...Is it a coffee shop, a bakery, a retail store, a bike shop?

The answer is YES!

à bloc is everything we love; Amazing locally roasted coffee, house-made foods and baked goods, including glorious Sourdough Boules baked twice daily, plant-based, vegan and gluten-free options for breakfast, lunch and snacks, including the BEST COOKIE IN LA, smiles, beautifully curated coffee and bicycle accessories. We even have a resident Bike Mechanic called Olsen keeping the community rolling.

à bloc is a woman / minority owned-operated family business. We appreciate all the love and support from our neighbours, community and beyond. ❤️

...in the time of COVID19

**Given our new reality during this time of uncertainty, we are now Grab & Go only. We've packaged some of your favorite vegan/GF ingredients/items into containers so you can incorporate our delicious ingredients into your home cooking.**

Be safe and take care of each other!

Founder / Husblànd of Owner - Team member

Originally hailing from Leeds in Yorkshire (UK), Kjeld (pronounced Kel) is a passionate life-long cyclist and ex- mountain bike racer. He moved from his native England to NYC in 1999 and then to L.A. in 2003, and is a long time NELA resident.

Founding à bloc allowed Kjeld to channel his passion for cycling culture, coffee, and food together with his 30 years of entrepreneurial skills into one amazing environment and realise a dream to build a community for people to enjoy all three. He is the founder of the independent cycling apparel brand superdomestik.cc which has its HQ and Flagship Retail Store within à bloc, and (when he has time to shoot) you can find his cycling photography in the annals of Peloton MagazineBicycle Mag and other fine magazines. Photo: Greg Erwin
